Net zero efforts include energy, water and waste at building level, campus level, portfolio level and community level. Primarily the design development would help formulate strategies to achieve net zero status. This would be in terms of reducing the dependency of the facility on the supply grids and making them self-sufficient to manage their needs within the site boundaries. The development process would start with benchmarking the project followed by analyzing the requirements and data attained while also setting the targets for performance. The final stage would include integrating the strategies and coming up with design inputs to help achieve the set goals. The strategizing would be divided in two major parts; active strategies and passive strategies. The inputs would be focused on reducing the demand by adapting passive strategies and then using the active strategies.
